About the Role
You will own the user-facing layer of our web applications. That means building responsive, accessible interfaces in React and TypeScript, working closely with designers to translate Figma specs into production code, and making sure pages load fast on every device. This is a hands-on role where you ship features weekly and care about the details users notice.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain UI components using React, TypeScript, and a modern CSS approach (Tailwind, CSS Modules, or styled-components)
- Translate design specs from Figma into pixel-accurate, responsive layouts
- Optimize Core Web Vitals: LCP, CLS, and INP across all pages
- Write unit and integration tests with Jest and React Testing Library
- Implement client-side state management using React context, Zustand, or Redux Toolkit
- Collaborate with backend engineers on API contracts and data fetching patterns
- Review pull requests from teammates and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Identify and fix accessibility issues to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards
Requirements
- 3+ years building production web applications with React and TypeScript
- Strong understanding of HTML semantics, CSS layout (Grid, Flexbox), and responsive design
- Experience with at least one meta-framework: Next.js, Remix, or Astro
- Familiarity with REST and/or GraphQL APIs and client-side data fetching (SWR, React Query)
- Solid grasp of web performance fundamentals: code splitting, lazy loading, image optimization
- Comfortable with Git workflows: branching, rebasing, pull request reviews
- Able to write and maintain automated tests at the component and integration level
- Clear written and verbal communication in English
Nice to Have
- Experience with design systems or component libraries (Storybook, shadcn/ui)
- Familiarity with animation libraries: Framer Motion, GSAP, or CSS animations
- Exposure to server-side rendering and static generation patterns
- Contributions to open-source projects or a public portfolio of shipped work
Tools & Workflow
- Git and GitHub for version control and code review
- VS Code or Cursor as primary IDE with AI-assisted coding (GitHub Copilot or similar)
- Figma for design handoff and inspection
- Jira, Linear, or similar for sprint planning and task tracking
- CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Vercel, or Netlify) for automated builds and previews
- Chrome DevTools and Lighthouse for performance profiling
- Sentry or Datadog for error tracking and monitoring
