About the Role

You will work across the entire stack, from React components in the browser to API endpoints and database queries on the server. This role is for engineers who like owning features end-to-end: you pick up a spec, build the UI, wire up the API, write the migration, and ship it. Small team, high ownership, real impact on the product.

Responsibilities

Build features end-to-end: frontend UI in React/Next.js, backend APIs in Node.js or Python, and database changes
Design database schemas and write efficient queries in PostgreSQL
Implement and consume RESTful or GraphQL APIs with proper error handling and validation
Write automated tests at multiple levels: unit, integration, and end-to-end (Cypress or Playwright)
Deploy code through CI/CD pipelines and monitor releases in production
Collaborate directly with product and design to scope features and identify technical trade-offs
Refactor and improve existing code: reduce tech debt, improve performance, simplify architecture

Requirements

4+ years of professional software development with full-stack experience
Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript on the frontend
Backend experience with Node.js (Express, Fastify, or NestJS) or Python (Django, FastAPI)
Solid SQL skills: schema design, query optimization, migrations
Understanding of web security basics: XSS, CSRF, SQL injection prevention, CORS
Experience shipping features in a CI/CD workflow with automated testing
Comfortable reading and writing technical documentation
Clear written and verbal communication in English

Nice to Have

Experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Vercel Functions, Cloudflare Workers)
Familiarity with real-time features: WebSockets, Server-Sent Events, or similar
Knowledge of caching strategies: Redis, CDN configuration, HTTP cache headers
Prior experience in a startup or small team where you wore multiple hats
